Bailey's First Photo Shoot

Today was Bailey's first professional photo shoot! Mackenzie is helping us getting Bails on pet toy packaging and other stuff but it didn't go as well as I'd thought it would. Corey took him to the Jakks Pacific offices in Malibu at 3p for the shoot but lets just say Bailey might not be cut out to be a doggie model. Corey said Bailey freaked out when the flash bulbs popped. Poor lil guy. Here are some pics before all hell broke loose and Corey had to take Bails outside to calm down.

(btw- we did not pay to take these photos in case you were wondering!)

Smackfest 2009 Tournament

What is Smackfest you ask? Well it is the greatest, biggest and best four man volleyball tournament in California. Every year we look forward to participating in this crazy fun-loving costume tourney in Hermosa Beach. This year Corey and I played with our friends JP & Keli on Saturday and not only had so much fun but were happy with our performance. Our record was 2 wins and 2 losses plus had a blast especially because of the challenges that we won. Our team name was called "Put It On The Menu" thanks to the help of Jmar initiating this phrase last weekend while watching Kristi play in the AVP. Thanks to everyone that came out and supported us. It would not have been as much fun without our cheering squad.

After not doing anything on Saturday night following the tourney, we saved our energy to hit the sunset concert series on the beach Sunday night. Some vino plus a big ole lasagna I made and great friends turned out for a fun night.

My Dad's Visit

Late Wednesday night July 15th my dad flew into town from Florida for a long weekend of fun in the sun. We specifically chose the Manhattan Beach AVP Weekend so he will also be able to see my cousin/his niece play volleyball. The weather was spectacular and everyone had so much fun. Thursday night we did a big family dinner at this great Italian restaurant. This pic was taken at K&J's house right before we took off for dinner...
Friday we watched Kristi play volleyball all day on the beach then went to the Hollywood Park Race Track for our friend Kevin's 30th birthday party. Aside from friends- my dad, my aunt Carol and uncle Dan joined us for a night of horse racing and fun. Kevin not only had a blast celebrating his birthday but fun was had by all.

Saturday night I decided to put on a BBQ at Corey's dads place so everyone would get to spend more time together. Corey's sister Tiffany and her husband David plus the 3 kids came up from Newport Beach to meet my dad. My dad's last trip out here he met Corey's dad Bob but had not met the extended family (still needs to meet Linda Corey's mom but she wasn't feeling good on Saturday). In addition to them we had a big group- Aunt Carol, Uncle Dan, Aunt Cheryl, Uncle Rick, Bob, Justin, Kristi, Brian, Mac, Adam, Kayla, Paul, Paul's Mom-Peg, Brittany, Corey and I. Holy fun night!!

Blazed & Confused Concert

Saturday afternoon we went to the Snoop Dogg / Slightly Stoopid Concert in Irvine. Before we went to the concert we stopped by Heather & Sasha's place in Laguna Beach. Weather was perfect again and what a fun time we had before hand but can't say the concert itself was any good. Fun times had by all though!

Thanks Heather & Sasha!!

4th of July Weekend

WOW- where do I begin?!? I suppose I will take you back to Thursday night when all the fun began at Sharkeez. Immediately following our beach flag football game we headed over to get the party started.

A wardrobe change later and we took off for another bar called Blue 32 then to Hennesseys where Kristi & Jmar's college buddy played the guitar & sang. Kelly thought she was in the "band" so thankfully Sharif welcomed her with open arms. I love it!!

Friday we took it easy so we would be rested and feel good for the 4th of July 5k race. Lots of this took place.
Festivities got under way on Saturday morning following our 5k run at 6th Street in Hermosa (my old house) and the fun continued on over at The Comstock's House in Manhattan. It was fun to walk the strand and check out all of the insane house parties.

Comstock's place continuing the fun. Lovin Kristi's amazing american flag jacket. Thanks Jerry, Rhonda and Trey. Enjoyed every minute of the party!
The spread @ Big Jer & Rhonda's... nothing says the 4th of July like BBQ southern style. Thanks Trey- you are my american hero!!

Village Runner 4th of July - 5k

Indeed Corey and I ran another 5k this past weekend. I told myself the next race I would participate in would be a 10k but it was not offered. I mean I suppose I could have run the thing twice but what fun is in that ; ). For the most part I think we (Ian, Danny, Kristi, Jmar, Mackenzie, Kevin, Courtney, Corey and I) all ran it to justify the drinking that would later take place that day to celebration this great country's independence. Great way to start off our morning!!
Happy 4th of July!!!
