Kid Rock Concert

KID ROCK- THURSDAY SEPT 25TH Kid Rock Crew w/ Magic (Limo Driver)
Ah, good times at the Kid Rock concert. Totally reminded me of the John Mayer concert in college when we snuck into the second/fourth row (Kinsey- yes I'm talking to you!!) Yes, another Thursday night event but I figure why not get the weekend started early. You might be thinking Kid Rock uh but let me tell you what an amazing performer he is. This is actually the second time we have seen him in concert. Unfortunately this time he did not have girls dancing in cages on stage with him but man was it fun!! We took a limo with 9 of my friends and had a great limo driver... Magic was his name. HAHA!! The limo ride and concert still make me smile. Friday was definitely not a very productive day for me at work. : )

Next Step Fitness Fundraiser

Corey & I attended a fundraiser on Thursday 9/18 after work at an art gallery in Beverly Hills - Ace Gallery. The event was incredibly well organized with an open bar, passed apps, a band and over 40 items available for silent auction. The event was very close to Corey's heart since all of the money raised was going to Next Step Fitness http://www.nextstepfitness.org/ which was started by Corey's good friend (Janne Kouri) after he was in a tragic accident over two years ago. The accident, which left him paralyzed, was during the Annual Manhattan Beach 6 Man Volleyball Tournament. Fortunately through his family, wife, amazing group of friends and unbelievable amount of support from the community he was able to start a rehab facility. The event was such an amazing success that I know everyone involved were so pleased. I actually bid and won a ski package which got us 4 one-day ski passes to Vail, Colorado; Smith Ski Goggles; Smith Sunglasses and Head skis!! I was so excited that we won the package ($375) and especially glad it was going to such an amazing cause. Check out this pic from the gallery.

Kevin & Courtney's Wedding

Kevin & Courtney's Wedding
Saturday September 6th 2008 was a great day. Two of my friends out here in LA- Kevin Krueger and Courtney Cazale got married back in her hometown of Palo Alto, CA. Corey and I were already on the road since we drove to Lake Tahoe for Labor Day with the dogs so we continued on our road trip to the wedding. Palo Alto is actually the town over from Los Altos Hills where my aunt and uncle have their primary home so we spent Friday night at their house and then when everyone got in town we moved to the wedding hotel to be closer to the action. The wedding was so much fun. I think I can honestly say that the dance floor was packed the entire time. Now this wasn't hard to do considering that this wasn't a small wedding - 280 people to be exact and I think everyone in the place was dancing. At one point my cousin Kristi and her husband Justin busted out the invisible double dutch jump rope. Yeah you heard me. Double dutch like the 4th grade playground but it was invisible. It was absolutely hilarious. In fact it was so real that my roommate Autumn broke her foot when she jumped out of the invisible jump ropes. At the time she didn't realize how bad she had hurt her foot until we got back home. Needless to say this was a wedding to remember especially for Autumn. Lake Tahoe - Labor Day

Labor Day in Lake Tahoe is my favorite. Not to say the 4th of July or Christmas aren't far behind but for some reason Labor Day is extra fun. I think it's because everyone comes and its "officially" the last weekend of summer. I don't really believe that it is the last weekend of summer since the weather in California is ideal all year round but I can definitely notice that school is back in session solely based on the amount of time it takes me to drive to work. I wouldn't change a thing about where I live but man let me tell you that driving 50 minutes to get only 18 miles is rough. I really shouldn't complain because I live on the beach and I also believe I wouldn't talk to my family nearly as much as I do if I didn't have such a commute so I guess its a good thing. (I mean grandpa did get a cell phone this year at 90 yrs old!) Here are a few pictures from our trip. Corey and I had such a great time even after the fam left on Tuesday morning. It was wonderful to have a few extra days up there just the two of us to hang out. We stayed from Saturday-Thursday.
Corey with Bailey and Wrigley on our hike! Took us 3 hrs from top to bottom.

That little thing up in the air is the Cable Car that we road up in to the top of Squaw Valley then hiked down. We took this photo from the hike and we weren't even at the bottom. Now you see why it took 3 hrs!

Uncle Dan's Cocktail Spot. The best place to see the sunset. Not easy to get there but man what a view once you do. This was our last night in Lake Tahoe!!

Trip To North Carolina

So... I'm sorry that I haven't posted anything recently but we have been busy traveling all over the place seeing everyone. The past few weeks have been crazy but so much fun. Corey & I went to North Carolina over the weekend of August 23rd for four days to visit my new lil niece Vivian. We had such a great trip and really enjoyed our time with them. We were one week early for Nate's 4th birthday but that didn't stop us from going bowling to celebrate. We also went on a great hike with the entire family. Baby #2 has definitely not slowed down the Scofield's! Here are a few pics from the trip.

Bowling Night!! We saw a Copperhead Snake in the middle of the path on this trail. One of my sister's dogs "Zeke" almost stepped on it. Nate thought the snake was pretty cool!
